On Tuesday, May 21, the Workers Unite Film Festival hosted a salute to Local #3, highlighting short films from Local #3 apprentices that showed what it's like to live a day in the life of a working person - and each film in its own way was a reminder that everyone has challenges and joys and can truly find meaning in our work. There were also discussions on rank-and-file activism and organizing in today's labor movement. The evening took place at Workers United HQ - 305 7th Avenue, 7th Floor, NYC.

This night, one of 3 weeks of events for the Festival, showcased films from a number of our apprentices enrolled at the Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Center for Labor Studies at SUNY Empire State. These films are part of an effort by the Workers Unite Film Festival to create 100,000 Citizen Journalists from the labor movement in order to balance the often-skewed views held by ordinary people and the mainstream media.
