The Edward J. Malloy Initiative for Construction Skills (CSKILLS) is an apprenticeship preparation program based in New York City that involves classroom instruction and hands-on training. Since its founding in 2001, CSKILLS has placed more than 2,300 New York City residents into apprenticeship programs jointly sponsored by union affiliates of the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York. This month, Local 3 IBEW “A” journeywoman Saudia Khan, who graduated from CSKILLS in 2011 and then completed our Apprentice Program, was named their “Alum of the Month.”
