Local 3, IBEW journeypersons, apprentices, and retirees in the Westchester Community Services Committee and Westchester Mechanics Association volunteered to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, New York, on the weekend of October 4th. Volunteers started the day on Saturday morning unloading a box truck, setting up tents, tables, and displays. They returned on Sunday afternoon to break it all down and load it back on the truck.

The annual “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” is one of several opportunities each year to volunteer with the Westchester Community Services Committee. Next up is decorating the Elizabeth Seton’s Children’s Center in Yonkers for the holiday season. If you are interested, or if you have school-age children who need to get community service hours, please call the Local 3 White Plains office (200 Bloomingdale Road, White Plains, NY 10605) at 914-948-3800 or attend the next Westchester Mechanics Association meeting on Thursday, November 6th, 5:00pm at the American Legion Post 1122 (840 McLean Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704).
