Michael Jordan succeeded Ken Forsberg as Local 3’s Business Representative in Midtown Manhattan, effective September 1, 2021.\
Michael was initiated into Local 3 in September 1989 when he entered the ‘A’ Apprentice Training Program. He completed his apprenticeship in 1995 and worked on numerous jobs throughout the jurisdiction as a journeyman, sub-foreman, and shop steward.
As a shop steward, Michael worked in Staten Island under Business Representatives Joseph McSpedon and Joseph Santigate. He also worked as a steward in Brooklyn for Business Representatives Joseph Santigate and Eliot Hecht, and at the time of his appointment he was working as a steward at Barclays Center under Business Representative William Hofving.
A member of the Wage and Policy Committee, Michael has served as an Inspector at the General Membership meetings and as a member of the Local 3 Election Board. He also served as chairman of the Election Board and President of the Staten Island Electrical Club. He is a member of the Brooklyn Bedsole-Kingsboro Club and the Christopher Columbus Committee and participates in the Local 3 ‘A’ Apprentice Mentoring Program.
For many years Michael helped coordinate the Staten Island Electrical Club’s effort on the “Bread of Life Food Drive” in conjunction with the Notre Dame Society of Staten Island. He is a member of the North Shore Democratic Club of Staten Island. He serves on the Richmond County Democratic Committee. He volunteers his time as the girl’s varsity softball coach at St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the NY Panthers Girls Fast-Pitch Softball Organization, in addition to coaching many years at Great Kills Little League where he has served as a director.
A resident of Staten Island, Michael and his wife, LouAnn, have two daughters, Liana and Alyssa.
