60 years ago, on August 28, 1963, the Civil Rights Movement made history at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. Local 3, IBEW Fixture Division member Leroy Tempro was designated the Labor Coordinator for the march. About 50,000 trade unionists and 250,000 people overall participated in the march. More than 400 members of Local 3, IBEW went to the historic demonstration, according to the report published in the Union World newspaper on September 15, 1963.
