The New York State Gaming Facility Location Board has established Community Advisory Committees in order to gauge public support for the eight applicants vying for three new downstate casino licenses, which are expected to be awarded by the end of this year. Each proposal is a massive work opportunity for Local 3 electricians, the unionized building trades, and thousands of New Yorkers. More than just new casinos, they are multi-billion dollar investments into revitalizing infrastructure, public parks, hospitality, and the surrounding communities.

Local 3 members have been showing their support in coalition with organized labor and community organizations across the city from the Bronx to Coney Island and Queens to Times Square. Help keep up the momentum by visiting this page to quickly submit your written comments and view each CAC’s meeting schedule.

Coming up on September 9th, there will be a rally at 2:45 p.m. outside Queens Borough Hall in Kew Gardens right before the Metropolitan Park CAC’s next meeting. Stay tuned for more upcoming events and calls to action.
