On Veterans Day, November 11th, we thank the men and women who served in our nation’s Armed Forces to secure our rights and freedoms as Americans. Among thousands of commemorative events happening locally and nationally, the New York City Veterans Day Parade is the largest, with over 20,000 participants. The Veterans Club of Local 3, IBEW welcomes all union members and supporters to join their contingent assembling on Broadway between 23rd Street and 24th Street at 12:30 p.m. The parade will be broadcast live on WABC and livestreamed online at nycvetsday.org.
This Veterans Day also marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Local 3 currently has 15 members in active military service and is a proud partner of organizations like Helmets to Hardhats, which assists veterans to enter careers in the unionized building and construction trades. Recently at an awards reception hosted by the Union Labor Advisory Network on October 29th, Business Manager Chris Erikson and the Veterans Club were both honored for their past and continued support of military veterans.
