The NYC chapter of the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus (EWMC), the Lewis Howard Latimer Progressive Association, and the Young Workers Committee of Local Union No. 3, IBEW recently volunteered for a Day of Service to support The P.O.I.N.T. Family Enrichment Center in Jamaica, Queens. On Saturday, April 4th, volunteers from Local 3 assisted the center’s move-in process, assembled furniture, organized rooms, and helped prepare the new facility for its upcoming grand opening.
This Family Enrichment Center (FEC) will serve residents in Queens, including Electchester, by offering vital resources, programming, and support for families. By contributing their time and skills, union members showed once again that Local 3 and our partners not only build the city’s infrastructure, but also strengthen the communities we call home.
