Robert Massato Jr. was born in Brooklyn on June 29, 1967. Rob attended Our Lady of Grace Grammar School and Abraham Lincoln High School. He started working as an “A” apprentice in March 1988 and was initiated into Local 3 in May 1988. He completed his apprenticeship and earned his associate degree from the Harry Van Arsdale Jr. School of Labor Studies at SUNY Empire State College.

Rob worked as a journeyman, foreman, sub-foreman and layout-man and currently works as a shop steward in Brooklyn for Business Representative Michael Jordan. He took many of the classes offered by the Educational and Cultural Trust Fund, including lock-out/tag-out, lead abatement, confined spaces, OSHA 30. He was also an editor for the Mosaic Forward Journal.

Rob was on the Labor Day Parade Committee and is a member of the Christopher Columbus Festival Committee, an inspector at union meetings, a member of the 2016 “A” Contract Negotiating Committee, the Local 3 Election Board and the Bedsole Kingsboro Club. Rob has served as the chairman of the Ladies Night Dinner Dance, recording secretary, vice president and held the position of club president for the last 7 years. He is also a member of the Staten Island Electrical Club.

Rob is a third-generation member of Local 3, preceded by his grandfather, Louis, and his father, Bobby. His brother, Joseph, is also a member of the “A” Division. Robert is married to his wife, Sabrina, for 25 years, and they have a daughter, Gabriella.
