The Safety Department was notified last week by training provider ClickSafety that the NYC Department of Buildings deemed them out of compliance and has removed them from the “Approved Course Provider” list for Site Safety Training (SST) classes. As such, we have been in contact with other trade unions affected by this matter and the NYC Building and Construction Trades Council to navigate this issue.
Currently, the Safety Department is working to replace ClickSafety as soon as possible, at which point SST classes will continue for Local 3 members through the Joint Industry Board’s Learning Management System (LMS). Currently unexpired SST cards are unaffected and remain active. The Safety Department is contacting members whose SST card is nearing expiration to provide guidance and assistance to each member needing to begin renewal training once a new provider is secured. OSHA training through the JIB LMS is unaffected by this matter, so continue to work on those classes if you are already underway.
